First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos dives back into her first love – teaching.
Marcos, a lawyer and an educator, is taking on a part-time professor gig at the West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of law in Iloilo City this school year. The President’s wife will be teaching public international law this semester.
The Ateneo-educated Marcos already met her 2nd year law students and looked forward to her teaching stint at the university. Photos of the First Lady reconnecting with her students have been shared on her social media pages.
“It felt good to see my students again! 📖 😅📚” the First Lady wrote on Instagram.
Iloilo City holds a special place in the First Lady’s heart since it was where her dad Manuel Araneta Jr. was born. The First Lady joined the WVSU faculty under the college of law in August 2022.
Marcos earned her law degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 1985. She also took post-graduate classes in criminal procedure at the New York University.
She previously taught law in schools such as Mariano Marcos State University in Ilocos Norte, St. Louis University in Baguio City, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Northwestern University College of Law in Ilocos Norte, and Far Eastern University College of Law in Manila.
She is a founding partner of M & Associates law firm.
